In piazza Vittorio Emanuele III

Shows

Three evenings, three shows. Fire, music and stilts, up to the cascade of stars that closes the festival.

The illuminated figure of the Big Violinist before the audience

Friday 4 September · 21:30

The Big Violinist
& Fire Vertigo

The show tells of the eternal conflict between Good and Evil, staging the contrast between Heaven and Hell, between angelic voices and demonic temptation.

Struggles and dances of death and rebirth bring the stage to life through the languages of street theatre and of music: dancing stilts and fire handling set against the haunting notes of the violin played by the majestic, ethereal Big Violinist. An immersive experience that takes the audience on a journey of wonder, where light and darkness meet in constant balance.

Fire performers in the ORAKEL show

Saturday 5 September · 22:00

ORAKEL
a timeless show

ORAKEL is a dreamlike tale about the search for knowledge. Weaving dance and fire together, the performance invites us to move past futile answers and find again the rhythm of our own heart and the ability to listen. A total immersion in which those who watch end up finding their own truth.

A series of tableaux unfolding in a timeless space, in a place that does not exist. Delicate sets and small flames adorn a surreal, visionary world. Performers who have chosen fire as their stage companion play out actions that echo through past, present and future, never dwelling on reality.

Through the streets of the old town

Entertainment

Extravagant characters, drums and musicians carry visitors into another dimension for an unforgettable weekend.

The Ballata Bellica group with historical instruments

Ballata Bellica

Friday and Saturday

An engaging repertoire of medieval music played on historical instruments such as bagpipes, fifes and shawms, recreating the atmosphere of the past.

A costumed performer on stilts

The Hunchback and the Witch

Friday

The striking presence of stilts, combined with commedia dell’arte technique, makes for original and effective entertainment: improvisation, make-up and costumes finished down to the last detail make the wanderings of these two characters both thrilling and unusual.

Jesters performing before the audience

Li Nadari giullari

Saturday

The show is a perfect blend of audience interaction and circus arts, full of comic moments and remarkable skill: amid the jokes and the horseplay, you cannot help feeling a little mad yourself.

A reconstructed medieval farming camp

Farming camp and medieval market

Saturday and Sunday

A reconstruction of a medieval camp and market where craftspeople bring a moment of history back to life with their tools: the journey of bread with period equipment, from milling to baking, the wool and timber trades and the old lathe.

A table of reconstructed period games

Medieval games

Saturday and Sunday

The baratteria, in other words the legalised gambling house! Nobles and wealthy merchants amuse themselves at play, drawing visitors into period games such as chess, draughts, dice and tric trac, and explaining where those games came from. Every faithfully reproduced table becomes a stage on which the excitement of the past comes alive.

Costumed performers along the village streets

Farm animals and medieval life

Saturday and Sunday

The Piccoli Allevatori di Avio group brings farm animals through the streets of the village, while the i Villici group recreates glimpses of medieval life and the Tamburi Medioevali di Brisighella beat out the rhythm of the festival.
