Avio lies in the Vallagarina, on the right bank of the Adige at the foot of Monte Baldo. Rovereto is about twenty kilometres to the north, Verona about fifty to the south; Lake Garda is a little further west.
During the festival the old town is closed to traffic: car parks are signposted as you arrive, just outside the village.
